ODA field work
I am in Hanoi – Vietnam now. The purspose of the trip is to attend ODA field work class of our MBA course.
This class is not mandatory. Who wants to attend can join but the travel and stay fee has to be accomodated by the attendees. The course sounds attractive but we have to take week off to join this and it is really challenging for full time working students. However, many people attended this year.
I have joined despite I am experiencing one of the most significant change in my career.
ODA is short of Official Development Assistance (政府開発援助). Japan is one of the major contributor in this area but the presence has been eroded compared to its spending before 2000. Japan used to be the No.1 contributor for long time but current position is No.5.
However, Japan has been supporting Vietnam government continuously and thus we have an opportunity to visit this country and view what is going on.
The course will begin from tomorrow. We will visit several locations to see what is being done as ODA spending 4 days.
I decided to join this class very early. Almost the moment I got admitted from Tsukuba MBA course.
It is because I thought this should be the opportunity for me to expand my view and improve my capability as global business manager.
I have many experiences working with Western people. However in the future we can see apparent growth of other ares and Asia is one of the significant ones.
Experiencing Asian country, not only on vacation, from development perspective would bring a very important change to my life.
I look forward to what I will see in coming days.
